12 long queues have formed along London’s River Thames as people wait to pay their respects to the Queen. Former England football captain David Beckham joined the public queue for the Queen to lie in state, saying it was “special to be here”. An estimated 750,000 members of the public are expected to travel to London for the state funeral and pay their respects as the Queen remains in state.

WATCH LIVE: The funeral of our great Queen will begin at 9am UK time, when the Queen’s coffin is moved from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey. Here is the full schedule below:

  • 6:30am – Everyone wakes up to attend the ceremony.
  • 8am – Gates to Westminster Abbey open
  • By 10:00 PM – All guests will enter.
  • Around 10:30am – The Queen’s coffin is carried from Westminster Hall in a gun carriage
  • 10:44am – The Queen’s coffin leaves for Westminster Abbey
  • 10:52am – The Queen’s coffin arrives at Westminster Abbey
  • 11am – State funeral begins
  • 11:55am – The last song will be played, followed by a nationwide two-minute silence.
  • Noon – National Anthem and Lament performance will end
  • 1pm – The procession will arrive at Wellington Arch and then depart for Windsor
  • 4pm – Commencement service begins
  • 7:30pm – A private service will be held at Windsor Castle

About 2,000 guests will attend the funeral at the abbey, where the service will be led by David Hoyle, the Dean of Westminster, a reading from Britain’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss and a sermon by the UK’s most senior cleric, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
