Roche is the last company to develop eight products. The Swiss company’s biggest contribution so far has come through their testing, which has developed PCR tests, nasal tests and rapid antibody tests designed to test whether a person has previously been infected with Covid-19 and recovered.

5. Novartis

Novartis currently has eight treatments. The drug Ensobibep is currently being tested in the hope that it will prevent hospitalization of the COVID-19 infection, while the American firm has signed agreements with CureVac, and Pfizer and BioNTech to develop the vaccine. Novartis plans to make 50 million doses of CureVac shots by the end of 2021.

The drug, which has already shown promise as an effective treatment for fibromyalgia, is being considered as a new long covid treatment due to the combination of two ailments, including sleep disturbances and brain fog.

Grifols currently makes seven COVID-19 products, although they work a little differently from each of the companies on this list. The Spanish company is using convulsive plasma – which contains antibodies – to create a drug donated by survivors of Covid-19 that could then produce an immune response without a vaccine.
